Fall for Greenville 2010 will be in Downtown Greenville, SC on October 8 – 10, 2010. Fall for Greenville is a long running favorite of local residents and myself. There is live music, drinks and great food from local restaurants and it all takes place outside on Main Street in Downtown Greenville, SC.
Fall for Greenville 2010 will be open different hours on the various days it will be running. The festival and fun runs from 5pm until 11pm on Friday October 8, 11am until 9pm on Saturday October 9 and 12pm until 7pm on Sunday, October 10.
I have been going to Fall for Greenville since I was a child and it has changed quite a bit since then. Everything from the food to the live music has been upgraded many times.
This year there will be food from 40 of Greenville’s best restaurants, dubbed A Taste of Greenville. There’s even going to be voting on the best restaurant food that will be updated live on screens at the festival. You’ll need to check out the website of Fall for Greenville to get all of the details, the text phone number and a code for your favorite restaurants. They were definitely not doing this when I was a kid.
Over the course of the weekend, there will be over 50 bands and musical acts performing. A local favorite, Cravin’ Melon, will be playing Sunday at 3pm on the Main Stage at Falls Park by the Reedy River. At any given point, there will probably be live music playing somewhere downtown that weekend.
There will be a culinary demonstration on Saturday from 11am until 3pm as well as wine tasting area and beer garden that will be open for most of the festival. Local Greenville restaurants will also be competing in numerous contests over the weekend that will be a lot of fun. A couple of the local favorites are the chili cook-off, the jalapeno pepper eating contest and the waiter’s race.
The Kid’s Area is a great addition to Fall for Greenville and one that I welcome since I am a parent of two. The Kid’s Area features rides, activities, music and scheduled entertainment events.
Best of all, Fall for Greenville is free of charge to the public! You will likely have to pay for parking at a local parking garage or pay lot. If you would like to get food or drinks from the local restaurants or let your kids indulge in the rides at the Kid’s Area, you will need to buy tickets that act as currency at the festival.
Fall for Greenville is likely one of the biggest events of the fall in Downtown Greenville, SC. I highly recommend it for singles, couples and especially families who are looking for free live music, entertainment, food, drinks, fun and a great time.
