Main Street Fridays is a outdoor music concert festival in Downtown Greenville, SC on North Main Street from 5:30pm until 9:30pm every Friday between late March and September. Main Street Fridays used to be named “Main Street Jazz”. It is a free community sponsored music event that features local and national jazz, blues, oldies and soul music bands.
Main Street Fridays is a very popular concert event in Downtown Greenville, SC, attracting nearly 2,000 Greenville residents each week. The concert is actually located outside of the Hyatt Hotel in Downtown Greenville, SC.
Only two more events remain in 2010! On September 17, 2010, Big Jar of Jamm, a Blues/Pop band, will be performing. Big Jar of Jamm is one of the Upstate’s most popular new bands. On September 24, 2010, The Robbie Ducey Band, a Rock/Blues band, will be performing.
Main Street Fridays is an excellent opportunity to take the entire family out for a fun, free night of music and dancing. The City of Greenville does a superb job organizing these community events that are an excellent way to provide free entertainment to residents of Greenville, SC and show off the beauty of Downtown Greenville at the same time.
I have attended this event a few times before and loved every moment of it. Greenville, SC is a beautiful city, especially at night with a lot of people and great music. Local restaurants will be open during the event for those who would like to grab a bite to eat at one of the great restaurants in the area.
